Position Overview
Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies is seeking highly motivated, curious, and hands-on students for our highly competitive Summer Internship Program. This opportunity is designed for ambitious high school (juniors and seniors) and college candidates who are eager to gain direct exposure to the machinery and processes that drive modern manufacturing. Our interns are members of the team, contributing to real-world projects that directly impact our shop's performance. This is not a role for the sidelines; you will be expected to get your hands dirty, learn quickly, and make a tangible contribution.

About the Program
Our internship program is project-based and dynamic. Rather than assigning predefined roles, our leadership team assesses the company's needs and the candidate's skills leading into the summer to arrange impactful project assignments. Past interns have successfully led and supported initiatives in:
  • Process Improvement: Analyzing production workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve shop throughput and product quality.
  • Technical Documentation: Creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance logs, and work instructions for complex machinery.
  • Automation & Technology: Assisting in the design, integration, or programming of small-scale automation solutions to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Machine Maintenance: Working alongside experienced technicians to perform basic preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and upkeep of our state-of-the-art equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in high school (junior or senior standing as of Fall 2025) or an accredited college/university.
  • Pursuing or intending to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • A demonstrable passion for and curiosity about how mechanical systems work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a hands-on environment (e.g., school machine shop, automotive work, robotics club like FIRST Robotics, personal projects).
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
  • Exposure to CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Mastercam).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles, such as CNC machining, is a plus.
To Apply
Please submit your resume for consideration. As noted, this is a passive posting to build our candidate pool for the Summer 2026 term. The Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies team will begin reviewing applications and contacting qualified candidates for interviews starting in February 2026.
